Hi,
Welcome to the blog ! This is an introductory post to talk through what detailing is and where it will take your automobiles car finish.
This blog as a whole will look at ALL area's of detailing, whether it you're new to the scene or not. I am sure everyone will get something from the blog, with vital information such as what brush does what job or a review of current shampoos.
We are going to kickstart this blog with an explanation - "What exactly is detailing"
The easiest way to explain detailing is a method of cleaning your car which results in a high level of gloss, clarity and very few imperfections. This is subjective as many classic car owners will choose polishes which fill rather than remove due to them owning the car over a longer time period. However, it is one of the most condensed versions I have came up with. Once you have understood what detailing can do for you, we must move onto a very important part to any new hobby/obsession.
This brings us onto the next point, planning. Planning is just as important as carrying out the task, if you fail to plan a detail then it will take a lot longer than expected and can waste time. You have to be focused on the task in hand and the area you choose to detail the car is very important. The area must have good drainage, water and electrical sources nearby. The first of many warnings with respect to detailing addresses the potentially life threatening mixture of electrics and water. Please keep any wires or general electrics as far away as possible from water you are using - you have been warned. Detail City UK accept no responsibilty for disregarding these warnings.
One of the factors you must take into consideration is your neighbours and wildlife, remember everything washed off your vehicle will either land on the street or down the nearest drain, so we have to take this into consideration.
Before you start your first detail, get hold of pad and pen then take this outside to your vehicle - ideally the night before. Now you need to bookmark this blog and we will go through various defects on our next post.
See you soon.
John

ReplyDeleteNo it isn't Detail City is the detailing company which I also own. I have added the UK recently to differentiate from the US Forum, although not a competitor is makes sense, mainly for clarification.
